This weekend in and around Littleton gives you a rare mix: a free Denver home improvement show, downtown historical ghost tours, a family-friendly Halloween Monster Bash, and peak golden cottonwood color along the South Platte River. The weather is cooperating, the patios are open, and the fall event season is in full swing. Here is a straightforward rundown of fun things to do Friday through Sunday, October 16–18, 2026, organized by day and distance from home.

Headline This Weekend: Denver Home & Remodeling Expo (Free Admission)

Friday–Sunday, October 16–18, 2026 | National Western Center, Livestock Center (North Hall), 4850 National Western Drive, Denver | Free admission

The Denver Home & Remodeling Expo is the metro's hands-on home improvement show this weekend, and admission is completely free. Whether you are planning a renovation, shopping for a new build, or just gathering ideas, the expo brings contractors, designers, remodelers, and product vendors together under one roof. Expect live product demonstrations, show-only pricing, and giveaway prizes throughout the weekend.

Show hours: Friday 12:00 PM–6:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM–5:00 PM, Sunday 11:00 AM–4:00 PM. Parking is available on the National Western Center grounds. From Littleton, the drive is roughly 30–35 minutes north via I-25.

Thinking about how a remodel or a move could change your monthly payment? Before or after the show, run the numbers with our Littleton mortgage calculator — it includes a rate buy-down estimator and closing cost breakdown so you can compare renovation budgets against a new home purchase.

    Friday, October 16

Denver Home & Remodeling Expo — Opening Day

Friday, October 16 | 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM | National Western Center, Livestock Center (North Hall), 4850 National Western Drive, Denver, CO 80216 | Free admission

Friday opening day tends to be the least crowded, which makes it the best time to have longer conversations with contractors and designers. Bring a list of your project questions and a measuring tape — many vendors offer free on-the-spot consultations. If you are considering selling and want to know which upgrades actually return value in Littleton, ask about cost-vs-return before committing to a remodel.

Haunts of Littleton — Historical Ghost Tour

Friday, October 16 | 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM | Departs from the Littleton Downtown Development Authority plaza, Main Street & Nevada Avenue, Littleton, CO 80120 | Tickets required (advance recommended)

The Haunts of Littleton walking tour takes you through the historic downtown blocks with stories of local legends, historic buildings, and the occasional unexplained occurrence. Tours run Friday and Saturday evenings through October. Wear comfortable shoes and a warm layer — evenings cool off quickly once the sun drops behind the foothills. Advance tickets are recommended through the Littleton Downtown Development Authority. Dig deeper into the city’s past in our Littleton local history guide.

Aspen Grove: Paris Street Night Market & Witch Walk

    Friday, October 16 | 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Night Market) & 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Witch Walk) | 7301 S. Santa Fe Dr., Littleton | Free to browse

Aspen Grove transforms into a Parisian-style open-air night market on Friday evening with artisan vendors, food, and live music along the promenade. The Witch Walk runs alongside it — a festive, costume-friendly stroll through participating shops. Parking is free in the surface lots, and the open-air layout means you can browse, grab dinner, and enjoy the evening without going indoors.

Friday Night Live Music at BARBOX

Friday, October 16 | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM | BARBOX at Aspen Grove, 7301 S. Santa Fe Dr., Littleton, CO 80120 | Free to attend

BARBOX hosts Friday Night Live with Zea Stallings performing and Que Desmadre food truck on site. It pairs naturally with the Paris Street Night Market next door — grab dinner from the truck and catch the set on the patio. Pair the stop with our Littleton breweries guide for more evening options.

    Saturday, October 17

Denver Home & Remodeling Expo — Full Day

    Saturday, October 17 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM | National Western Center, Denver | Free

Saturday is the busiest day at the expo and the best day to catch the live demonstration schedule. Arrive at opening to beat the midday crowd and to have first pick of any show-only promotional pricing. If you are weighing a remodel against selling and buying, this is a good moment to gather contractor estimates you can compare against the cost of moving up.

Halloween Monster Bash & Mystical Makers Market

    Saturday, October 17 | 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Aspen Grove, 7301 S. Santa Fe Dr., Littleton | Free to attend

Aspen Grove's Monster Bash is a family-friendly Halloween celebration with costumes, a mystical makers market, kid activities, and seasonal shopping along the promenade. It is free to attend and a relaxed afternoon option if you want to stay close to home. The open-air layout keeps it stroller- and dog-friendly.

Haunts of Littleton — Saturday Ghost Tour

Saturday, October 17 | 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM | Departs from the Littleton Downtown Development Authority plaza, Main Street & Nevada Avenue, Littleton, CO 80120 | Tickets required (advance recommended)

The Haunts of Littleton tour runs again Saturday evening. If Friday sold out, Saturday is your second chance. Pair it with dinner on Main Street — Cafe Terracotta, the Melting Pot, and Palenque are all within walking distance of the tour route. South Platte River Trail: Peak Fall Color Walk

Saturday, October 17 | All Day (daylight) | Littleton Downtown Station trailhead, 110 W. Littleton Blvd. (off S. Prince St.), Littleton, CO 80120 | Free

Mid-October is peak cottonwood color along the South Platte, and the paved Mary Carter Greenway trail from Downtown Littleton is flat, accessible, and free. The gold against the foothills is one of the best free views in the metro this weekend. Start at the Littleton Downtown Station trailhead and walk as far as you like — the river bends through open space that stays golden through the end of the month. Plan more time outdoors with our Littleton parks & trails guide and local hiking trails.

    Sunday, October 18

Denver Home & Remodeling Expo — Final Day

    Sunday, October 18 | 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM | National Western Center, Denver | Free

Sunday is the expo's final day and a quieter, more relaxed time to walk the floor. Vendors are often most willing to negotiate on show-only deals as the show winds down, so it is a good day to circle back on a quote you collected Friday or Saturday.

    Sunday Brunch on Main Street

Sunday, October 18 | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Historic Downtown Littleton, Main Street, Littleton, CO 80120 | Prices vary

Downtown Littleton has a genuine brunch scene. Cafe Terracotta (5788 S Santa Fe Dr.) serves a full breakfast and lunch menu with patio seating, the Melting Pot (2684 E Main St.) offers a Sunday brunch fondue experience, and Palenque Cocina Y Tequila (5350 S Federal Blvd.) pours weekend margaritas alongside its Mexican brunch menu. Walk Main Street after eating and browse the antique shops, bookstores, and galleries that open late on Sunday mornings. See the full lineup in our best Littleton restaurants guide.

    Sunday Bingo at BARBOX

Sunday, October 18 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM | BARBOX at Aspen Grove, 7301 S. Santa Fe Dr., Littleton, CO 80120 | Free to play

Sunday Bingo at BARBOX is a relaxed, family-friendly way to close out the weekend. It is free to play and the patio is open if the weather holds. It pairs well with a late lunch at one of the Aspen Grove restaurants.

Littleton Museum: Free Living History Farm

    Sunday, October 18 | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | 6028 S. Gallup St., Littleton | Free admission

The Littleton Museum's living history farm is free year-round and a quiet Sunday option with two historic farms, a schoolhouse, and heritage animals. The grounds are especially nice in October when the trees on the property turn. It is a 10-minute drive from Downtown Littleton.

    Practical Notes for the Weekend

    • Weather: Mid-October in Littleton typically brings sunny days in the 60s and cool evenings in the 40s. Afternoon thunderstorms are rare this late in the season but check the forecast and bring a layer for evening plans, especially for the ghost tour or the night market.
    • Home show parking: The National Western Center has on-site parking. From Littleton, allow 30–35 minutes via I-25 north. Friday opening day and Sunday tend to have the easiest parking.
    • Parking Downtown: The city lots on Prince Street and Alamo Avenue are free on weekends and are the closest reliable parking to Main Street. Street parking along Main Street fills by mid-morning on Saturdays.
    • Tickets: Haunts of Littleton recommends advance tickets. Walk-up availability is not guaranteed for weekend tours.
    • RTD Light Rail: The D Line and C Line serve Downtown Littleton at the Littleton Downtown Station. If you are heading into Denver for the home show, the light rail is a reliable alternative to I-25 traffic.

Remodel or Move? Use the Weekend to Decide

The Denver Home & Remodeling Expo is the perfect place to gather real contractor numbers — and those numbers are exactly what you need to decide whether to remodel your current home or sell and move up.
